Nearly a week after the Thanksgiving holiday has concluded, the California Highway Patrol (CHP) has released preliminary numbers regarding drunk driving arrests. It appears that fewer arrests took place over the weekend compared to the same time last year.
The CHP reported that between 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday (otherwise known as “Black Wednesday”) and 6:00 a.m. on Saturday, officers arrested 724 people across the state. 158 of these arrests occurred in Los Angeles County. During the same period in 2012, 840 drivers were arrested, with 186 people taken into custody in LA County.
